Left feeling completely relaxed & restored in mind, body & spirit.
10.0Everything was wonderful, clean open space, very well designed with well equipped kitchen, extremely comfortable beds in a beautiful & secluded location. There was even a fab selection of games for us to play on the one rainy day. Everything had been well thought out by our warm and friendly hosts right down to providing nuts to draw the squirrels to our great delight!
− All fab!
Exceptional
10.0It was clean, spacious and a beautiful property. The owners were very nice and welcoming and the area around the cabin was quiet and calm with only the sounds of nature and a few farm animals.

An honest review
8.0Cabin was clean and tidy and well kitted out. Beds were comfortable as were the couches in the living area. Enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after a day out walking which was warm and stayed warm. Location was good for some peace and quiet and to take time out from our busy lives.
− We arrived as it was getting dark, although we were sent directions to the cabin... I would have liked some better sign posting at the entrance to the road leading to the cabin which wasn't all that clear in low light. The drain in the shower room appeared to be blocked as it was slow to drain meaning you couldn't use the shower that long before the water pooled in the shower tray... Not ideal when you have two kids to get washed at once! Although there are two athrooms with the other being an en suite in the master bedroom... We tried not to use this as my parents who stayed with us used this and we wanted to give them their own space as we were away for dads birthday. The shower in the ensuit area was good. Warm and powerful however the experience in the shower room neatest the entrance wasn't as good. Perhaps a better showerhead which increases the power output may be a welcome addition. We intended to use the BBQ to cook some steaks we bought however the reality of using the BBQ wasn't as good as we hoped as we couldn't get any heat in the coals which were supplied as the fire continually dwindled despite the use of fire lighters and wood provided. The BBQ produced more smoke than heat and ultimately we gave up on trying to use it. The addition of the sauna appealed to us on booking the cabin however we didn't use it. The lack of lighting in the sauna particularly at this time of year made it less inviting to us. There are fairy lights in the BBQ area but they offer no light to the sauna area. There is an outdoor tap built on to the outside of the BBQ hut. It would have been handy if there was a hose available for client use. This would have been handy for rinsing down the car of road salt n dirt after a long drive or for washing wellie boots after a walk through the nearby muddy forest. Speaking of the muddy forest... There is a trail which serves as an outdoor walk which will take you into Kippford.
Excellent Holiday Location - Highly Recommended
10.01st Class accomodation, stunning design with excellent facilities. Sue couldn't have been more helpful in making us feel welcome. We enjoyed the hot-tub under the stars, with a clear view of the Milky Way. We made good use of the BBQ hut and Sauna and enjoyed seeing the local wildlife up-close, including a Badger and Red Squirrel. A great location for touring around Dumfries & Galloway or just chilling-out with great forest walks. Tons of activities for kids in the area too. Highly recommended.
− The weather - but it is Scotland in the Autumn :)
