Very pleasant, relaxing and comfortable stay at the seaside.

7.0

Cosy, quaint, quirky, traditional house. Great location in the beautiful seaside village of Crail near the harbour. Lots of lovely, wee shops nearby and a few friendly restaurants/ pubs to explore. Lovely views from the house and homely and comfortable enough to enjoy time relaxing inside the house. Comfortable beds in all the rooms. A good range of kitchen equipment. Well kept pretty gardens to wander around and relax in on a nice day. Quiet area at night as well. Good laundry facilities were a plus too.

The Annexe had a very damp, unpleasant smell on arrival and needed a good airing before it could be used to sleep in. The window blind in the annexe was covered in mould and very tatty. The rest of the house was very comfortable - but quite tired in a lot of places - stained bedside tablecloths etc…. Kitchen could have been a bit cleaner as well - old mouldy glass of orange juice on shelf, mouldy coffee in a tin. Bit of a frugal offering on essentials like toilet roll, toiletries and kitchen basics like tea / coffee etc… considering this is not a cheap rental! We’ve had lovely offerings left in far cheaper accommodation. Took a while to work out heating and the first few nights were very cold in the house - but once mastered - was very cosy. Not a great internet connection and at times the TV is not usable at all due to no connection at all - however this forced us to play more board games! A lot of the windows are painted/nailed down like the main bathroom upstairs and the kitchen - which could also do with a good airing at times. Despite all this we fell in love with the house and the area and would be keen to return. Comments only due to the high weekly rental cost - so your expectations are understandably a bit higher when paying this price for a week.
