Charming house with sea view

We were amazed by the hospitality of the host. The view is amazing. We stayed for Christmas holidays and New Year’s Eve. The area was very quiet, no loud fireworks or firecrackers nearby. The location is excellent, but you need a car. We enjoyed hiking to Konnos Beach, it was beautiful and the weather was lovely.

− I liked everything about the house. It would have just be perfect, it the nearby restaurants and supermarkets were open in winter, it felt very empty, but there were people hiking. We found out later on, that you can order groceries online.

disappointing and totally overpriced

the property overlooks the sea and this I feel was the only saving grace

− We paid $4500 aud for a 7 night stay in Oct for what is described as a superior villa and we were shocked on arrival at the clutter, the damage (which included things like a stairwell light smashed with glass remaining, broken shower doors, broken fridge drawers. I originally booked number 18 (next door) and when I contacted the manager to enquire why we weren't in the villa we had booked, I was told very matter of factly that both villa's were identical and the one I had booked gets used more so no real explanation or apology. We explored and booked the villa months ago so you can imagine my frustration at having paid so much to be fobbed off. When I asked the manager if he was aware of all the damage he smiled and said "yes we are". He made one comment in booking.com messages that he would come and fix anything if needed. Well there was little point as the whole house needs more that a bit of damage sorting it needs completely gutting. 3 of the 7 nights I was woken by the worst drain smell coming from ensuite ( I closed door and slept with window open for the remaining days). Having travelled from Australia we were so looking forward to the Cyprus part of our trip and didn't think for a moment that the villa wouldn't be amazing based on the photos on site and the expense - how wrong we were. If I had paid half of the cost I would have probably thought 'oh well I am paying for a nice sea view" but $4500 aud end of/out of season I would never have booked it. My biggest surprise is the other reviews i have read on the site all singing its praises we cant understand it - unless of course the villa I was supposed to be in (Number 18) is much better than what we were actually in (Number 19)
