− It was an odd mix. Some things were done really nicely but others were really lacking. Parking is really an issue, obviously a permit can't be issued for the house so you could at least back at the back of the property? We were stuck in the first night, lock fell off the front door so had to wait in. Lovely, lovely man turned up and sorted it. Nothing from the company/hosts to apologise and follow up? Is the call centre really in the Philippines? The person on the phone didn't tell me that by the way. They were as helpful as they could be but accent was quite hard to understand at times. So house was very obviously lovingly renovated. Then iron and board were cheap and not fit for purpose. Curtains in 2nd bedroom were slightly too short? I could go on, there's an attention to detail that has been missed. Great to have 2 bathrooms!

− We stayed at Kittiwake House with our 4-month-old baby and unfortunately the experience was disappointing due to ongoing heating issues throughout the stay. The thermostat was not functioning properly from the start, meaning we could not reliably control the temperature in the property. We reported this immediately and were told an engineer would attend between 9pm and 10pm on the first night, but nobody arrived and we received no communication or update. This was particularly frustrating as we had arranged our evening around the visit. We had also made it clear that we were travelling with a young baby, so being left without a reliable heating solution on the first night was unacceptable. Maintaining a safe and consistent room temperature for an infant is important, and instead we spent the night constantly adjusting layers and bedding. An engineer eventually attended the following day and implemented a workaround, but the issue was never properly resolved. We were forced to leave the heating running continuously to stop the property becoming too cold, which often made it overly warm instead. As a result, comfort remained an issue for the duration of the stay. The property itself has potential, but the handling of the issue and lack of communication fell well below expectations. We also felt the response to our complaint afterwards was inadequate, and when we said so we received no meaningful reply or engagement on the issue. Overall, not the standard of accommodation or customer service we expected.

Very clean and well equipped with everything we needed.

− Drive way too small for my car and not very much room close to the area for additional parking if more than one car.

Beautifully clean and comfortable. Fantastic location close to links and Spanish City. Great family facilities in a spacious traditional terraced house. Great sleep!

− Not many complaints at all. The heating was difficult to understand and would have been useful for drying swimming gear and towels.
