A Charming, Relaxing, Elegant Hideaway in the Perfect Spot for Exploring Kingsthorpe and Northampton
9.0We loved the stunning decor, the comfortable furnishings and the welcome warmth of the property on a cold, winter's weekend. With tones of terracotta and midnight blue throughout, the beautiful cushions with golden cheetahs and the tasteful wall artwork added the final touch of class. The kitchen is modern with a pretty skylight and the flooring is shiny and immaculate. The big, wall-mounted TV screen has an excellent choice of programmes including Netflix, Amazon Prime and BBC iPlayer. There are two large bedrooms upstairs, the main one with plenty of plugs for charging and/or laptop use. It has plenty of shelving, an open rack for clothes, and a desk area for laptop work. There is a big shower and a large Victorian standalone bath in the bathroom. The location of the property is ideal, with a massive Asda just 5 minutes away by car or 12 minutes away by foot. In the opposite direction, just beyond Kingsthorpe village green, there is a beautiful pub called the 'Queen Adelaide' on a gentle hill. The pub overlooks the ancient 'St John the Baptist' church that adds to the elegant skyline. The architecture of the surrounding houses is fascinating and worthy of a photo. If you want to venture further, Northampton town is just 15 minutes away by car. If you don't have a car, there is a regular bus service from a depot next to the Asda store. The Cultural Quarter is home to the popular Derngate theatre and Northampton Museum and Art gallery. The museum has a vintage Formula One car on display in their café area at the moment. Not far from Northampton Castle, there is a large, VUE cinema for those colder, indoor days. And that's before you even get to the shops! We can definitely recommend this beautiful property. The owners always reply to your messages straight away if you have problems or queries.
− The shower knob needs a strong hand for switching off. The stairs are fairly steep.
