A beautiful house with a lovely big garden

The house was beautiful and the rooms large and airy. There was a lovely large garden at the rear of the property. Great location at the heart of the village. The beds were comfortable and so were the sofas in the lounge. Overall we had a lovely stay with plenty of room for the 8 of us.

− The house could have been so much more if the little things such as cleaning properly and fixing broken things had been attended to. The weather was very hot and I think fans in the bedrooms would have been a good idea. We opened the windows but this was awkward due to the Venetian blinds - which were very dusty! After reading other reviews, I discovered there was a garden of which no mention was made in the description. I asked a question before we came about if there was garden furniture and received no answer to this. I’m not sure why you don’t add the garden to the description as it was definitely a feature for us.

Very pleasant overall but could have been cleaner.

Comfortable and spacious. Nice location.

− A lot of traffic noise at times, dog barking next door, church bell chiming every quarter hour during the night. Only one tea towel and no hand towel in the kitchen. No kitchen roll. Dishes in cupboards not clean. Some woodwork, especially downstairs toilet, grubby.

Was great location good kitchen

− Cobwebs everywhere kitchen cupboards need cleaning also the freezer not enough toiletries for 2 people no soap in downstairs toilet

large house and a premium property that met our needs, well planned and spacious

− Not enough glasses, no welcome pack, insufficient cooking kit, no coffee caffetiere, no washing tabs and one dishwasher tab. Kitchen blind broken and just left on sill. Poor preparation. Complained to the house managers but no follow up yet. This was a real disappointment for a premium property and let the owners down we felt.

It was freezing.

Location and number of bedrooms

− We didn’t like the fact that during a very cold spell in January when we stayed, the heating and hot water went off. We were freezing and unhappy about having to take cold showers. The problem wasn’t resolved because it was caused by the oil having run out. This was a mistake that should not have happened.

Massive potential, but let down by easily-fixable issues.

The actual house is beautiful, 4 en suites a real luxury and it's a fantastic location.

− We were there one year ago, and gave the feedback that the kitchen needed to be re-stocked. Nothing had changed and obviously more had been broken in the year. For instance, in a house of 8, having only 4 glasses is rubbish, all of the freezer drawers had broken etc etc. It's not a cheap house by any means, and drinking wine out of a mug and constantly running a quarter full dishwasher seems a real pity. It's so easily sorted if any attention were given.
