The check in instructions were clear and getting into the property was easy. The key was in a lockbox and I was sent the code ahead of time. The house is a good size and has the potential to be really nice. When i had an issue with the property, the owner got back to me quickly and tried to offer solutions such as offering to return the security deposit and sending a food voucher as a form of apology. When I still wanted to leave, they agreed to a full refund and were apologetic.

− After I had already booked and paid for the property, which is non refundable, I was made aware that there is a £250 security deposit which is refundable at the end of the stay. This is fine however it is not advertised before hand and because i had already paid, I only had the option to pay it (which left me no money for the weekend itself) or loose the money i paid for the property and not be able to stay. If I had known about the security deposit I would not have chosen to stay there as I personally could not afford it. The property advertises free parking however this is just street parking outside the house which there is very little of and as someone was already parked outside the house, we ended up parked quite far away in an area I wouldnt necessarily want to leave my car in. The property is not in the condition it is shown to be in the pictures. The house itself is nice but is really run down (broken radiator cover, scuff marks all over the walls, chipped paint, stains on carpet etc). The house would justify the price if it was in better condition and if it was in better condition, the security deposit would feel justifiable (however this still needs to be clearly advertised before people pay non refundable). The garden was appalling. I dont know how it looks so nice in the photos. Its actually horrible. There were cigarette ends all over the floor and an empty alcoholic drink can on the floor. The parasol is broken and a big metal arm is sticking out across the garden which is all rusty. The fences are low and there is little privacy from neighbours. The hot tub was switched off and had maybe 2 inches of water in it (which didn't look particularly clean). It would have taken hours to fill the hot tub with water and hours to heat it up which would have left us very little time to use it. Booking.com were absolutely terrible though, and I will never use them again.
