The house was well equipped like being at home. It was very clean and the decor was lovely, not a thing out of place - exceptional. The movie room was fantastic and has inspired us to finish setting up our movie room at home. The spa was lovely and we managed to use it most days. The main 3 bedrooms (generous in size) were upstairs which was a great layout for us, with a spare room downstairs which we didn't need to use. We did use the heating on the last day as it was a bit cold and the house was lovely and warm. Plenty of throw rugs everywhere and very cosy. The beds were all great, just like being at home. Plenty of warm bedding. Great views from the living area and master bedroom. There were plenty of shops and places to eat nearby, within a 5min drive, so good location if that's important. Residential location which we like. Airport run was easy too, so great for our 6.20am flight out.

− We didn't realise we had to pay insurance on the property which comes through the week before check-in. We've never had to pay for insurance in a holiday home and we have 4 weeks holiday a year in holiday homes. Also adding personal details in the third-party's link was not usual either and i had to ask my husband if that was legitimate. I would've preferred the insurance to be paid when the booking is made and not have a third party email asking for personal information to confirm the insurance booking. The third bedroom upstairs had a full step down into it. I stepped down without seeing the step, so ended up placing a travel bag in the doorway to slow us all down. The 4th bedroom downstairs had the same step down which i'm gathering it is to make the bedrooms compliant with the ceiling height code, which is fine. There is only one bathroom upstairs but that's not a deal breaker for us as were were there with our two children, may be an issue if there are more than 4 people staying in the upstairs rooms or guests who aren't family members. I assumed there would have been an ensuite but didn't take much notice when i booked it as the whole house looked lovely (and it was very nice). Having the spa and the movie room was a better fit for us rather than have an ensuite so it wasn't an issue for our family.

We loved the theatre room, table tennis and spa

A bit extravagant for a short stay such as ours. Be great for long stays to the right age bracket.

− Too many stairs, and the stairs were not safe stairs, definitely would NOT recommend for older people or disabled people.
