We left for another hotel due to the cleanliness

We were in the property for all of a few hours.

− We stayed at this hotel for four nights in Koh Samui. It is advertised as a 5-star property, which, in our view, it certainly is not. The price of the rooms far outweighs the level of service and cleanliness provided. We arrived late (around midnight) and were taken to our room by buggy, which is necessary given how steep the walk is. Upon arrival, issues became apparent almost immediately. My partner used the shower, which had a strong raw sewage smell. While we understand this can occasionally happen in warmer climates, running the water did not resolve it, in fact the smell worsened. At the same time, I turned down the bed to find stained sheets, a dead mosquito, and hair present. We contacted reception, who said they would come to inspect. While waiting, we noticed further problems: mould on the ceiling above the bed, damp patches on the walls, used wax pots, and a dirty bath. Reception informed us that nothing could be done immediately that night but they could change us to a spare room tonight and then we look again in the morning. At that point, we had completely lost confidence in the hotel and decided to leave. Reception pushed us to return the next day. The following day, the hotel offered us an upgraded villa. While we appreciate the gesture, we had already checked out and did not feel comfortable returning. More importantly, we do not believe a higher category room should be maintained to a better standard than a standard room. We therefore requested a refund. The hotel agreed to this in writing. However, it has now been over a month, and despite multiple follow-ups, including requests via Booking.com, we have received no response. We have since had to escalate the matter through our credit card provider.

Quiet location on the beach - accommodation was up very steep hills but buggy service was excellent

− Restaurant and bar was open air and was very hot and humid. Ceiling fans would be a good idea
