The location is great. The riverside scenery is beautiful in the evening.

− I think the host needs to find a new cleaner. When we arrived to check in, the cleaner was still there cleaning. As soon as we walked in, she stopped working and just sat in the room. We noticed she seemed unhappy, so we said we would leave right away and not disturb her work. She immediately replied, 'Yes, you are disturbing me.' We stayed in the room for about ten minutes and then left, and didn't come back until she finished cleaning. To be honest, she didn't actually do much — the cot sheet hadn't even been changed, and there was still hair on it. The room was just tidied up, but not actually cleaned. Anyone who cleans their own home would know that this work wouldn't take four hours. Apart from the terrible experience with the cleaner, the host was fine at the beginning. After we checked in, because we had a baby who needed to play on the floor, we were worried about getting the carpet dirty, so we rolled it up and put it to the side — anyone who walked over to the sofa would have seen it; we didn't hide it. Also, as a personal preference, we don't like sleeping with a mirror facing the bed, so we took it down and placed it next to the cupboard. But after we checked out, the host only listened to the cleaner's side of the story and called us. There was no greeting, no introduction of who he was — I answered the phone and was immediately met with aggressive questioning. He asked me what I had taken, and even accused me of stealing the carpet and the mirror. I still find it laughable — who would steal a carpet and a mirror?! I did nothing wrong, but I was scolded for no reason. It left me with a very bad feeling, and I have to say it here.

A pleasant stay

Spacious apartment, very well equipped, comfy beds. Car parking was no problem in the road outside. Very efficient, quiet lifts.

− The apartment block was on the commercial side of the Marina, so a 15 to 20 minute walk to the restaurant area, so not suitable for guests with mobility issues. The apartment requires some minor maintenance work, toilet seats move, kitchen tap is loose and shower door comes off its runner easily.

The host needs to address the problems in this very tired apartment.

Good location with view over the marina if we had been able to see out of the filthy windows!

− Having read previous reviews about problems encountered and the platitudes of the host there seems little point in mentioning them as obviously they are not addressed. Bathroom shower attachment doesn't work. Loos have plenty of flushing water but don't flush the bowl away. The photos on the site are completely out of date. The apartment now doesn't look like anything like the photos. Something fell off the sitting room wall. No 'normal' TV, streaming only. By the amount of linen and cleaning products I would suggest it's a service flat for other apartments. Towels supplied are horrible material and don't dry properly. Fortunately we found other ones in the linens store.

The location and view right beside the marina was nice, very easy to locate and access, very clean property equipped with everything we needed for our stay, at a very competitive rate. The host was very hospitable and went out of his way to accommodate our request.

It was a great experience
