Nice family cottage, 7 mins from a fabulous pub with comfortable beds

8.0

A lovely decorated and furnished property. Enough plates, glasses and cups for everyone where the dishwasher could be used without being without. The beds we so comfortable as were the pillows plus the carpeting upstairs was so comfortable and looked new. The room sizes were great. The house was lovely and clean with a nice addition of soaps in the bathrooms, enough toilet rolls for a couple of days plus some tea, coffee, sugar and even milk portions in the fridge for arrival.

On arriving at the house, it was freezing cold. I rang the number for help and, after the lovely polite member of staff had spoken to someone who new about the property, she explained how to activate the heating, it came on, thank goodness as we arrived an hour before my 80 year old Mum did. (this was not in the information book with all other information.) We were also not overly impressed with just one fridge freezer, for 8 people, we didn't think this was sufficient, an extra fridge would have been useful, necessary even. Also only having one oven, which was extremely slow at cooking, was not sufficient to cook our family meals. I realise that some families go out, but we are a family that chose this house for the sole purpose of having our family meals together. Also, I was told about the parking for 2 cars within the gates plus parking for more cars opposite, not told about the ability to park one car in the garage, which ended up being a godsend as there were always other cars parked in the layby opposite. The other thing that was possibly not a fault of the owners was that the Wi-Fi stopped working on our second day. The downstairs shower was not usable due to absolutely soaking the whole room if you used it, which meant my mum couldn't shower all weekend. One little mat on arrival felt very inadequate, I had to put down a towel to prevent wet feet reaching further plus no mat at all at the front door, again, another one of my own towels used. We experienced many flickering lights during our stay, changed then just removed flickering lightbulbs. With all these, I hope, become useful feedback comments, we enjoyed our stay and if some things were addressed, would book again.

Great house for a group of women cycling and golfing . With a small amount of work it would be great.

Location was great , mainly well equipped.

No soap dispenser in showers, missing a bowl for fruit or salad. Downstairs shower didn’t drain properly and towel rail upstairs loose. Pillows all very big. On quite a busy road

Location walkable to beach and local pub. Parking for 2 cars. Well equipped cottage. Sheep woke us on the last day, on their early morning stroll through the village. Very cute.

Pillows we're too high with 2, too low with one. Oven needs screwing in properly. It moves slightly when opening the door.

Definitely would come back. Lovely setting.

Very clean and high spec throughout.

No criticism of actual property but no warning that nearest local shop is 5 miles away.

Massive and very well equipped

Pricey but that's because there were only four of us. If we had used all the bedrooms and split the cost would have been very reasonable. Booking.com had the wrong address and we were sent a map of a different village but when I rang the company they were extremely helpful and reassuring. Hopefully this has been sorted now.
