Quiet apartment close to train to Milan

7.0

The apartment was clean and everything worked. Large bathroom, plenty of space in the kitchen / seating area. Quiet and friendly neighbourhood, road in front and common square at the rear of the building. Friendly pizzeria at 80 yards. Choice of supermarkets in town and a nice high street. Close to the train station to get to Milan. We chose it as outside the ULEZ/ZTL (I spent hours to figure out how it works in Italy and still none the wiser) and took the train to Rogoredo and the #3 Subway Metro from there.

Shortly before arriving we had a message to say we could not use the allocated parking space and advised to park on the road. I had scoped out the parking before we left and there are a few unrestricted roads and a gravelled parking area in the north of town (1km) across from a friendly car wash on Via S Francesco. There is parking around the station but it seemed full when we were there. Not sure how serious the Italians are about fines, there is a sign about street cleaning on every road, and on the Via 8 Giugno it seems paid parking in blue bays and resident pass in white. The apartment looked different from the photos on Booking and one review suggested it was one floor above where we are staying. The kitchen/diner is spacious, and another table would be a bonus as we moved the coffee machine to make space for the laptop.

The apartment was beautiful near the train station and big free parking

Ir was noisy at night because of the train and the people in the restaurant under the apartment, the cleaning of the apartment and the building was not that good

Clean, well furnished, and close to everything in town. Next to the train station, but it's not very noisy at night. And that means you're within striking distance of Milano. Comes with airco, which is a godsend.

Quiet location, felt safe, great parking, very nice apartment that is well-equipped

9.0

The rooms are very nice and simple--good bed/bathroom/kitchen area. It was clean and up to date. On arrival, the owner tells you how to get the keys and where to park. We of course parked in front of the wrong bush--the parking goes under a short tunnel and into a yard, and parking is an extreme left closest to the building. There are actually two sets of doors to the apartment. If you're an American, remember that you're on the third floor, not the second! It had everything you need to bathe, cook, and sleep. If you have a separate washer/dryer at home, just remember, laundry takes hours for just one load because in Italy they hang most of their clothes outside on clothes lines or on an indoor clothing rack. No complaints about the unit, everything we needed for our stay was there. Good internet service too. There is a little cafe very close, just down the street that serves coffee in the morning. If you are in for a short drive, find the Evento Bar and Food near Norauto store because it has amazing coffee and breakfast pastries, etc., just 10 minutes away.

Small issues only: We're English speakers that have never been to Italy so keep that in mind. We had very basic Italian. The only thing we didn't like is trying to figure out how use the stove top, oven and laundry. It would be nice to have instructions in English but Google and a translater were great friends so it's not impossible to cook and wash your clothes. The neighbor's TV was a bit distracting in the evening so the wall in the living room/kitchen/dining area is a wee bit thin.

The apartment is equipped with almost everything we needed and is located in a quiet neighborhood, which ensured a comfortable stay for us. The host was friendly and welcoming.

There’s no elevator in the building, which could be a problem for people traveling with heavy luggage.
