What a beautiful home,the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in,the serenity of the whole property is perfect,loved the chickens,loved the atmosphere, perfect,highly recommend. 5 stars.

All in all we really enjoyed our stay here- only mentioned the above as we would have like to know before coming.

The gardens were immaculate, the house was very tidy and cute and well put together- has a beautiful country getaway feel to the whole place. Had chickens at the door step each morning and enjoyed the sun through the trees.

− I don’t like to leave reviews that talk about the little things that don’t matter but we did pay a lot of this place for two days and none of this was mentioned in the previous reviews and it would have been really good to know. Unfortunately there was quite a bad damp smell upon entering the house and each time we returned after it being closed up- maybe to be expected in a genuine older style cottage. On the second night the aircon was making funny Noises in the main house and then something shot out of it while it was crackling. When we looked up we realised the smell was coming from some mould that had formed above the aircon. It’s a little bit creepy in some of the areas with older style furnishings, creeky windows, an attic door that’s slightly ajared and lots and lots of paintings of little girls… and rabbits… great for the person keen on art but for us it was a little out there and maybe added to the unease. All in all however it was a good stay- we spent most of our days in the main areas which are stunning with great appliances and everything on could need for a getaway

A great spot for a group getaway

The house was a beautiful country retreat for our group of 10. The furniture and bedding were high quality and comfortable and there were plenty of dishware, cutlery etc for our group. The property is spacious and full of country charm. There was room for all of us to eat together either outside on the deck or at the dining room of the main house, and plenty of separate spaces for us to hang out in smaller groups as well. The main house and the birds nest are very close together and it didn't cause any issue having 4 of our group just a short walk across the driveway.

− There were only 3 coffee pods available for a group of 10 people, when booking for such a large group, I would expect at least one cup of coffee accommodated for each person! There was no spare toilet paper (even the rolls in each bathroom were half used so not even one full roll provided. The fridge had been emptied but was dirty with sticky marks/spills from previous guests and the freezer was full with old ice, ice cream and food items. None of these things are deal breakers, just something for future guests to plan for!
