Great place for a family looking to relax by the pool and the beach in a lovely comfortable house.

Both the house, its facilities, and the surrounding area exceeded our expectations. The property is located on the edge of a large private development, with an empty plot next door, which meant there were no nearby buildings overlooking the terrace or upstairs balcony. This made the setting especially quiet and relaxing. It was also less than a one-minute walk to the beach—an ideal location for us. We were warmly welcomed by Karolina, who kindly allowed us to check in earlier than planned as we arrived at the airport ahead of schedule. She was very responsive and helpful, and we greatly appreciated the early access. Prior to our arrival, Richard provided useful information about the nearest large supermarket (we went to Lidl in Gran Alacant), as there is only a small shop in Urbanova itself. Since we were shopping for the week, this advice was very helpful. The kitchen was well equipped (Dolce Gusto coffee machine if you're looking to bring extra pods) and the BBQ was easy to use thanks to the helpful video guides provided for attaching the gas canister. The house was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. The beach was the highlight for us and did not disappoint. The nearest beach access point has a lifeguard station and a flag system indicating daily water conditions. There was also a large play area on the beach (recommended for ages 10+), and a lively but pleasant promenade with benches where families gathered in the evenings. We had been slightly concerned that Urbanova might have a tourist-heavy, British expat feel like Benidorm, but we didn’t hear a single British accent during our stay—which was refreshing. We ate at several local restaurants—Al Tucan is particularly recommended for both its food and atmosphere—and found that the local shop was reasonably priced. All in all, we highly recommend this property for a relaxing family getaway.

− While the pool itself was lovely—surrounded by real grass, shaded by trees, and with a lifeguard on duty when in use—it is worth noting that the house does not directly overlook the pool. It’s a short walk to the other side of the development which was not a problem for us as the beach was so close. That said, we found the pool manager to be overly strict with the rules. For example, we purchased an inflatable ring for our 7-year-old, who is learning to swim, but were told it was “too large” and not allowed—even though the pool was nearly empty at the time. We understand the need for safety, especially when the pool is busy, but in such circumstances, the enforcement felt unnecessarily rigid.
