The apartment was immaculate. Could not have chosen a better location, and the view was sensational. The host was quite lovely and made certain I was well taken care of throughout my stay. One of the nicest places I ever stayed at in all my travels.

A great place to stay. The host was very helpful and the location was perfect just opposite the National Palace. It was very busy during the day but quiet after 7pm and almost silent after 10pm. The flat was well presented and with all the facilities we needed.

Cute, clean apartment in Sintra's historic centre

Cute, clean apartment in the heart of Sintra's historic centre. Right across the street from the National Palace and a 10 minute walk to the Sintra train station. Bus stops are less than a 5 min walk away. The apartment comes with a hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, hairdryer, towels, dishes, utensils, a pod coffee maker, soap, shampoo, WiFi, and a TV. There are cafes and shops within 100m of the front door. Ideal for seeing all Sintra has to offer. Sintra is not a party town and is quiet at night.

− The first night I was there was cool, and the bed didn't have the duvet on it. I looked in the cupboard the next day and found one. There is no reception desk. It's just a key in a box with a lock/code. I didn't know that. It's not a digital box, so when I arrived very late, I was worried about getting in, and the Uber driver thankfully stayed with me until we figured it out. It was stressful until I got the key out of the box. While there is a hob and a microwave, there is no oven, so if you wanted to throw on a pizza or something after hiking all day, you would have to only cook a stove top meal instead. There are no laundry facilities. Having no oven or washing machine is OK if you are visiting for a week or so, but it might be hard if you wanted to stay longer. This isn't the fault of the property, but it's good to know - taxis/Ubers are not allowed to pick up in the historic centre. To be collected, you need to walk closer to the train station or near The Chestnut. I didn't know this, so I was 40 minutes late for my Pena Palace itinerary; I didn't know my way around, and the Uber drivers just kept cancelling without telling me an appropriate pickup location.
