1.0The location was good.
− We booked this accommodation mainly because it had a garden, and with the weather forecast looking nice, we thought it would be perfect for our toddler. Unfortunately, the garden was completely overgrown and full of weeds and nettles (see attached photo), so we were unable to use it at all. The house itself also felt quite worn and neglected, and there was a strong smell of egg coming from the bathroom throughout our stay. When we contacted the company, they were apologetic but said they were unable to get anyone out during our stay, which was very disappointing. Sadly, on our final night there was a power cut in the village. Obviously this wasn’t the company’s fault, but we were left in complete darkness with low phone batteries. When I messaged to ask whether there were any torches available, I was told there weren’t any and was advised not to use my phone. If you’re providing accommodation, basic emergency provisions like torches should really be available. We’ve since contacted them regarding a refund but now seem to be being ignored, despite receiving emails asking us to leave a positive review. Overall, a very disappointing experience, and unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
Relaxing stay in Hett
7.0Great location and beautiful views across the fields. Lots of hot water and a nice garden
− Nothing but a hairdryer and shower mat would be a nice addition.
Lovely place to rest and recuperate!
8.0It is so quiet and so comfortable. Easy parking where I didn't have to worry about the car. Beautiful area with lovely local walks. Close to towns for supplies, but somewhere far enough away to be very quiet. All the local people we met were lovely too. Free wifi, good TV, comfy lounges, good amount of space. Bonus points for bath! Beautiful views ftom both bedrooms too.
− Attention to detail could be better, eg there are cobwebs in all the light fixtures. The soaps and detergent were almost empty. There was no product provided for washing machine or dishwasher (forgive me if there was and I didn't find it). The oven was not clean so we decided not to use it. There were some dirty dishes in the cupboard. But otherwise, everything was lovely.
Quirky warm cottage
9.0The cottage is a little quirky. It was nice and warm with plenty of hot water. The location was quiet and central for our purposes.
− There were a couple of small things missing eg not enough washing up liquid to last more than a day.
Loverly cottage situated in a nice area.
8.0The location was very nice. Beautiful views from the rear. Close to pubs and restaurants. The house was very warm. Good facilities and amenities in the kitchen. I imagine it would be loverly to stay here in the summer with the views and the back garden.
− There was a massive puddle outside the door, so when parking, you had to stand in the puddle to get out of the car and into the house. The bedroom at the rear of the house was situated directly at the top of the stairs, so if you walk out of the bedroom, you are at the top of the stairs. The bed was very small. We arrived late at night so when I turned the bedside table on I noticed the room in between the bedside table and the wall was filthy with a hair clip and something else there. There is a window that separates the back bedroom and the bathroom so when someone used the bathroom in the middle of the night it lit up your room and woke you up. The extractor fan in the bathroom was filthy with dust.
Long weekend in Hett
10.0Location was very good for our needs, staff very accessible, property had a couple of niggles but nothing that spilt our stay.
− Leaky shower screen, bathroom extractor fan needed a clean, maybe some stepping stones at the rear to the deck could help and possibly a side table or two in the lounge to stand drinks on.
