Mari was a wonderful host. She speaks some English, which is very helpful , and she went above and beyond to help us when my husband lost his wallet. She contacted the police on our behalf, and thanks to her help we were able to recover it. She also personally welcomed us during a late arrival in heavy rain and helped us get settled, which we really appreciated. You stay in a cabin in the forest next to Mari’s house. It is a duplex, so there can be other guests. Unfortunately, during our stay the people above us were quite loud on the terrace. This is a pity because the location is absolutely perfect for birdwatching, and noise does affect the experience. The room itself was very comfortable and clean. The bed and pillows were excellent, and we slept well. We used the double bed, but there are also three single beds available. Take into account that water if cold, no hot showers. The outdoor setting is simply stunning. The number of birds and even toucans is incredible, and this really deserves more promotion. Jungle Joe, a well-known birdwatching spot, is located nearby, which says a lot about the area. If you are interested in birds, this accommodation is ideal. You can already see so much just from the terrace. There was even a hummingbird feeder on the terrace, attracting many hummingbirds throughout the day. The cabin is about a 15-minute walk from the city center. We loved this walk, but it may not be for everyone. Taxis usually don’t go all the way up, while motorcycles are more convenient. On the same road, there are some nice restaurants with beautiful panoramic views. Another positive surprise was that there were actually very few mosquitoes. There is a kitchen, but the cooking equipment is quite limited. Filtered drinking water is provided, which was perfectly fine for us. As a small suggestion, offering instant coffee powder would be a nice extra (not the one for the french press). Overall, a beautiful place!

− Very little to dislike. You get exactly what you pay for and even a bit more. It’s not luxury accommodation; the cabin is basic but fully met our needs. One small tip: bring a sleeping mask, as it’s difficult to make the room completely dark.

Stukje paradijs

Prachtige, rustige plek, fantastisch uitzicht vanaf het balkon en door de ramen. We hebben veel vogels en vlinders gezien. Vanuit je bed zie je al toekans, kolibrie's en andere vogels en vlinders. Zeer ruime woning met warme douche en goede klamboe. Prettige afstand van het dorp en dichtbij genoeg om daar te eten (of te laten bezorgen). Eigenaresse gaf ons een warm welkom. We zijn langer gebleven. Er is veel te ontdekken in de omgeving.

− Niets. In de hele regio zijn veel muggen, let daarop bij het openen van deuren. Je hebt hier in ieder geval wel een goede klamboe en natuurlijke anti-insektenspray tot je beschikking.

Dans la nature au calme

L'emplacement idéal, pas trop loin de la ville et surtout une belle vue sur la forêt. Les colibris qui viennent nous rendre visite. L'espace est grand et l'aménagement intérieur très sympa. Merci encore à María Claudia et Javier pour tous vos conseils et idées de visites. Nous avons passé de très bons moments dans votre maison 👍. Nous y retournerons sans hésitation. A bientôt.

Pleasant stay and I would recommend it.

It was a very spacious flat in a peaceful location, tucked away but not far from Minca’s town center. The hot shower was good, the kitchen was well equiped if we needed to cook. We were provided with drinking water and the hosts were very nice and helpful, speaking french, english and spanish.

− The spare beds in the living room were not comfortable to sleep on. They were a bit too hard.
