The place is very peaceful. room was clean and has all the amenities we needed.

Isolated location that provided peace and (mostly) quiet. Appreciated that it was only a short drive to the Stagg Tree, a beautiful sequoia tree.

− For the price, mediocre accommodations. Clearly, not the best room with all other rooms empty. Eerily empty. The empty and security-overloaded Lodge itself felt like the hotel in The Shining. The erratic messages were simply bizarre and nonsensical. Only figured out after the fact that "a retreat in nature" was code for no cell service and no wi-fi. Despite the isolation and potential for quiet, there was constant noise from a nearby chainsaw operation.

The lodge was very clean and spacious. Parking was good and the camp was quiet and clean. The people in the saloon across were super helpful on where to go hiking and provided WiFi.

− Lodge WiFi did not work at all during the stay and for the last day there was no power.

Beautiful location; hard to find

NO breakfast provided

− better pre-visit communication. When we arrived, we had no idea how to check-in. A local storekeeper gave us the password for Wi-Fi and that is the only way we were able to check in. Cell service in the area i nonexistent. No live person was on site and signage was not good to indicate location. Since this is literally in the middle of nowhere, better communication at least a day in advance would be great. If not for the local storekeeper, I do not know how we would have checked in.

− Check in inesistente, lo staff non ci aveva comunicato dove si effettua (abbiamo scoperto che non hanno una reception) e per messaggio non rispondevano. Dopo un ora di attesa ci siamo recati al bar del paese per poter telefonare e ricevere quindi istruzioni sul come entrare in camera. Lo staff non si è mai visto, muri delle camere sottilissimi e vicini di stanza rumorosi a notte fonda con musica e urla. Alla nostra richiesta di abbassare la musica hanno iniziato ad inveire contro di noi e a prendere a calci porte e finestre. Di questo la struttura può non aver colpa ma lo staff contattato per messaggio ha tardato ore a rispondere dicendoci di fare video per testimonianza e considerando che i telefoni non hanno linea in tutto il paese eravamo anche impossibilitati a chiamare 911. Siamo rimasti chiusi in stanza senza dormire.
