Great location. Plenty of space. Loved the quiet surroundings. Pub was great. Parking not a problem. Locals welcoming

− Could do with a full length mirror in each property. Only criticism

Liked the idea of a wooden lodge to stay in - we were only there for a short time so didn't really get chance to explore and to enjoy the pub. Location was great and definitely the right choice for the wedding which was just 5 minutes away.

− The heating was on when we arrived at midnight and it was like a sauna. A couple of items were either broken/damaged but as we were there for such a short time it didn't affect anything.

Comfortable cabin and beds. Provisions and towels etc as described. Quiet situation even though next to pub.

− Would have appreciated cafetiere and bread knife. Cabin was rather hot . In a heatwave having the radiators turned, which we didn't realise at first, on was unpleasant when nearly 30 degrees!! Would have been nice if bird droppings had been cleaned from deck

overall a lovely place in a nice quiet area. The listing is clear that the pub is the only thing around and that's good as it is quite a distance from newmarket/shops etc. The set up is good with two cosy bedrooms which our kids used. And two bathrooms which is amazing for a property of this size really. Both very clean. My husband and I slept on the sofa bed which was really comfortable and easy to pull out and put back. It's also really comfortable to sit on. In all honesty the sofa was a big attraction for me as these kinds of places often don't have the best lounge furniture. There is a football pitch and play area behind the place which is great for kids. We'd have brought a ball for our footie mad son if we'd twigged onto it. I was quite happy with the lack of TV and wifi for one night but our teens were most aggrieved so manage expectations when you go! There is wifi at the pub so we spent the evening there. The pub has games and a dart board. Food there is ok, pizza and sandwiches which was fine for my lot. I expect they do a good Sunday lunch.

− We noticed when looking for something when leaving that it was completely filthy under the sofa/sofa bed. The bedding is quite basic/ utilitarian in line with the eco ethos. We took our own duvet and pillows for the sofa bed and I was glad we did. The kitchen is very small and no microwave I assume due to the eco ethos. We had dinner at the pub (food was ok) and breakfast in newmarket after we checked out after a one night stay so can't comment further on/did not really use the cooking facilities. The windows were quite dirty at the back. I'd recommend highlighting the football pitch and play area behind the place more prominently. We've had brought a ball for our footie mad son if we'd twigged onto it.
