(Late review). Most amazing stay on Great Barrier Island! Absolutely stunning house, location, view, host, everything! Has an outdoor shower, 2 double rooms with en-suites, fully equipped kitchen and a beautiful balcony. Cant recommend enough - made our trip.

The accommodation is very well located. From the balcony, we have a breathtaking view of nature and the surrounding area. We went to see the sunrise, which was very convenient as the accommodation is less than 5 minutes from the beach. The house is spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. You quickly feel at home. The garden is beautiful and it's great fun to have breakfast in the sun on the balcony overlooking the sea.

Fantastic property with great views and location, very handy to the beach. Beautifully appointed beach house which was well equipped with everything you needed for a great holiday, down to all the little details. Very helpful communication from Hilde with lots of guidance on activities and things to do on the island. Sent well in advance so had time to prepare ahead of our holiday. Had a great Dark Sky Sanctuary stargazing experience with Hilde (Good Heavens), a wow moment seeing the rings on Saturn through the telescope. Very good Starlink Wifi internet.

− As a visitor to the island (in general) it would be good to have some information from Great Barrier Island tourism as a collective - a 'cheat sheet' of some sort which details which nights and when the restaurants are open for dinner. It took a little bit of time and ringing around to find this out.

Hilde is lovely - Met us at the house on arrival which was nice as it was our first time to Aotea. This house exceeded our expectations. From the cutesy home itself to the view and location, Would highly recommend. Only a short walk to the beach. Considering everyone lives “off the grid” on the island, This house catered to all our needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
