The apartment itself is nice and well equipped. Kitchen and bathroom essentials provided. Comfy bed. Good Wi-Fi.

− Dogs!!! Apartment is located in the basement of private house, just under the host's space. And they do have two (?) dogs, which can be incredibly loud, especially when host's family is not at home. Although the host promised me multiple times that dogs would be taken to the neighbors house during the daytime on weekdays, it was almost never done. Only one or two days during my two week stay there was everything quiet in the morning. The barking was extremely loud, especially between 7-10 a.m., and on one occasion when I decided to have an afternoon nap around 4 p.m. it was also impossible because of dogs. Obviously, the house has been built with no soundproofing in mind (who needs a soundproofing for basement!?) and there is a direct staircase to the upper floor, with only a thin door at the end of the staircase - and dogs are directly behind that door - so the loudness is almost as if they were in the same room. The temperature in the apartment was below optimal. Heating / AC system can be adjusted only from owners space, he claimed that the house termostat is set at 72F - yet it was only 64F in the basement. Luckily there was a portable heater, which was good enough to support comfortable temperature in the bedroom, while the rest of the large basement apartment was still below my comfort zone. Really hate to be the first one to show up with a negative review, but it seems like the dogs are still puppies, so the problem is a quite new one. Especially pity, that otherwise it would be a very quiet location, as the house is located at the dead end of a local street.

Lots of Space and and Games Galore

Cool place in the basement of a house of nice neighborhood. Great location if you're looking to check out Annapolis and don't mind a 10 min drive to the dock and want to save some $. If you like video games, this place is your jam. The host has a full-fledged arcade in the living room. There's about 15-20 games including pinball, all the PacMans, Buck Hunter, Asteroids, and there's even some slot machines! The place was clean and had a fully stocked kitchen. The host also left us some corn snacks, popcorn, water and Diet Coke in the fridge. There was plenty of room to spread out for me and my wife. You could easily fit a family of 4 in here with kids on the big sofas. Fun place.

− It was raining the whole time we were there. The entrance is in the back yard and it was a little slippery in spots. Some pavers or a little path to the basement stairs would be a good addition to this well-thought out place.
