Die Unterkunft hatte 2 Schlafräume und war in einer sehr ruhigen Lage positioniert! In der Nähe war die U-Bahn Station mit der man zügig zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten kam! Es war sauber und sicher gelegen!

The apartment was comfortable, clean, and convenient to where we wanted to go in NYC. Our hostess was responsive to questions and concerns.

− There was an extensive list of rules that the host wanted to make sure we had read and followed. It would have been better to have included this information in the listing so that people could be aware of this before booking.

Independent and cozy space within a beautiful home

The rooms were on the second floor of a beautiful house and we had the area to ourselves. The family was really friendly and the neighborhood is nice, very close to Central Park as well as Columbia university. I wanted to stay for a longer term but the rooms were rented out already. Perfect for visiting scholars or exchange students looking to stay a few months.

It felt like I was staying with wonderful locals in Harlem. My hosts, Razia and Harvey, are also excellent musicians. (You can listen to their music and performances on Spotify.) It was great to get to know them—they proudly balance their careers with their personal lives. I also appreciate how close it is to LaGuardia Airport. If traffic isn’t heavy, the drive takes less than 30 minutes. (I actually made it to the airport in 14 minutes early one morning.) There’s a grocery store with an ATM just a 5-minute walk away. You take your shoes off as soon as you step inside the front door. This custom, which is similar to what’s done in Japan, made me feel both clean and comfortable. If I have the chance again, I’ll definitely stay here. By the way, the room I stayed in wasn’t pictured on this website, but it was lovely.

− Here are a few tips for anyone considering a stay here. You’ll be given a key to the front door, but there are generally no keys for the rooms themselves. This doesn’t seem to be their policy, but rather a legal requirement. Since multiple guests who don’t know each other may be staying at the same time, this isn’t ideal for people who are looking for the complete freedom you’d find at a hotel. Be sure to read the house rules carefully before booking. There may be different points to note depending on the room, so I recommend asking questions if you have any.
