A lovely alpine setting to experience Austria.

Travelling from Australia we were looking forward to visiting the alpine town of Zell am See. Our top floor studio apartment was clean, compact and comfortable with everything we needed for our four day stay. Set on the slopes near the ski fields of the Schmittenhohe, it was in a great location above the lake. If travelling by train it is close to the town but involves a steep walk to the accommodation (if you don’t get a taxi). We preferred the walk. The check-in process is carried out online requiring a phone call on arrival to receive the key lock code. We enjoyed the walk around the beautiful lake and some mountain woodland walks. There is a local bus from the town centre to go higher up for walks or ski chairlift. Zell is in a great location to access other towns like Kitzbühel by train. The local tourism office and ÖBB train station staff were very helpful. We were glad that the host provides access to local ORF TV channels to keep in touch with current Austrian culture and the wonderful morning Servus Wetter Panorama program.

− Provision of a nearby recycling location to allow for daily drop off would be convenient.

Clean with comfy bed, misleading advert with no view of the lake, low ceilings

Lovely cute apartment, in the eves of a great building. Well furnished, complete kitchen and a super comfy bed The check in process was smooth and the host was helpful and quick to respond to check out questions

− One of the two apartments on the same advert does not have the brilliant view of the lake shown in the advert. It instead has the “Mountain View” of the grass bank behind the building - this is very misleading! Additionally, anyone over 187cm (ca. 6ft 2inch) will hit their head on the hilariously low ceilings. The kitchen ceiling is 186cm tall, and when stood in the shower the distance to the ceiling is ca. 180cm with the shower head at approximately 165cm. I think this makes showering/washing hair uncomfortable for most people

Good location, great views and good value for money. The apartment is almost perfectly appointed, having a dishwasher and washing machine in such a small space is great.

− These are only minor points- doors or curtains to separate the bedroom from living area would be a good addition. A built in hob would be much better than the portable one provided (I accept space is at a premium).

Cozy stay with thoughtful touches

A cozy, well-equipped apartment with plenty of storage. The host was incredibly accommodating, letting us check in early without a hitch. A huge thank you for the thoughtful birthday chocolates for my wife—it was a lovely touch! The apartment is located at a peaceful location.

− The bathtub setup made showering a bit cramped for taller guests. Also, while the heating was okay, it struggled a bit with the cold weather outside. However it was manageable.
