Lovely home outside of the town center.

The house was simple but lovely. Only one level but spacious. The kitchen was stocked with appliances. You can see a view of Brekkenfossen from the house and the trailhead is a short walk away. The town of Flam is about about a 20 minute walk which is beautiful and along a river. We enjoyed staying in an actual neighborhood instead of the city center.

− The property is a bit out of the way, and with no station transfers and a non-working taxi number, we had to walk about 20 minutes each way with heavy luggage. We were surprised to learn from the host right before arrival that there were tenants in the lower level. We’d assumed we had the whole house, though the tenants were friendly and we rarely saw them. An unexpected incident occurred when we returned to find the basement door wide open - an area not included in our rental. We assumed it was the cleaners, as we could see what looked like laundry inside, but the rest of the house hadn’t been tidied. While nothing appeared disturbed, it did leave us feeling a little uneasy.

Great location, with stunning mountain & waterfall view. Train passing-by experience.

− “The entire place is yours” is advertised on the website, but there were 3 other cars parked in the same property lot and other people (2 or more) stayed in the basement of the same house building. => Unsafe atmosphere & false advertising Laundry room downstairs was full of the property owner’s clean towels in the middle of the area, connected with another door. => Safety concern about the possibility that the door could be opened from the other side during our sleep at night. Due to the two disappointing surprise & false advertising stated above, we felt very uncomfortable and unsafe. Lawn grass is very long. Trampoline was shown on the advertisement photos, but it was not there. Slide was loose & unstable, without a warning sign in display. => Dangerous for children to play “Cow farm” smell in the bathroom since we checked in. => This bad small existed only in the bathroom (normal smell in all other parts of the house and in the balcony & garden.) Impolite post-check-out messages with arbitrary assumption from the property’s two representatives were extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. *In conclusion: NOT recommended to stay in Fint hus i Flåm.
