Glamping at its best with horse and atv excursions available

Great location and superb facilities. Fabulous view from the tent. This site is very new and will only get better as the owner develops the grounds. There are stables on site where you can arrange riding trips. We did this and they were able to accommodate both me(complete novice) and my boyfriend who is an experienced rider. Unfortunately the heavy rain made the trails slippery which was mildly terrifying for me but my boyfriend enjoyed being able to go for a proper ride, not just pony trekking as he says usually happens on holiday horse riding trips.

The weather! Not much the hosts can do about that, just a shame it rained so much when we were there as we would have loved to explore the forest trails more. There was building work going on but this was only in the day and we were out most of that time so it didn't impact our stay. They're building a bar/restaurant on site which will be a bonus.

Avoid this glamping site - better opportunities at Finca Verde Lodge nearby

We stayed at Volcano Tenorio Glamping Ranch as part of a family trip to Costa Rica, and we chose it because it is operated by the same owner as the horseback riding business we had booked (which, incidentally, was a disaster). This was meant to be the highlight of our daughter’s 11th birthday. On the positive side, the cabins themselves are reasonably comfortable. Our unit had air-conditioning and a TV, which may help with heat. A staff member also brought a small cupcake for our daughter’s birthday, which was a thoughtful gesture and genuinely appreciated.

However, there are several important things which travelers, especially families, should be aware of: • First, there is no English-speaking staff on site. All communication had to happen through Google Translate, including check-in. While we understand this is a rural area, the property markets primarily to international tourists and communication is important — especially if something goes wrong. • Second, the glamping site is extremely remote. From the main road, you drive around 15 minutes on rough and very bumpy dirt roads at low speed. I was very worried about what it was doing to my rental car. It truly is in the middle of nowhere, which may appeal to some — but it also means you are far from services or help. • Third, there is no permanent staff nor security presence. A lady checks you in, you gesture to each other as Google Translate doesn't work well in this remote region… and then she leaves. After that, you are essentially on your own. The security gate that supposedly kept outsiders away was not working and could just be rolled open. the If anything happens with other guests, a medical issue, or a safety concern, there is no one on-site to help. • Fourth, there was active construction work during our stay. Workers arrived at 6:00 a.m. on dirt bikes, revving up and waking up the entire camp. Then, lots of construction noise, drilling, digging etc. This really disrupted the “peaceful nature r

Fantastische locatie!
