Seaside Snug Honest Review
8.0Location near to trans pennine trail for dogs, can walk to Mere, Freeport and Tescos. Parking for two cars, smart TV with Netflix, Prime etc use your own login. Spacious clean living room, kitchen and enclosed garden for dogs. Good selection of pots, pans, cutlery and crockery in kitchen. Wash up liquid and cloth, sponge, kitchen and toilet roll supplied, but no teatowels. Nice touch to leave milk, cake and crisps as welcome gift. Outdoor furniture in garden good. Beds comfortable but prefer king size, hubby over 6ft. Bedding clean, towels provided and handwash. Throws provided for use on sofa etc.
− A few issues, some ants in bathroom, controlled with Raid. No washing line even though washer and pegs available? Very squeaky and uncomfortable pull out bed in living room that has to double as a settee, not very good! Lack of storage in bedrooms for clothes. Outside lights didn't work, recycling bin full and overflowing. No extractor fan in bathroom, no clothes hook. No instructions for electric oven had to try and figure it out. Only one key provided which can be difficult when two couples staying that want to do different things. Could do with a selection of board games and some cards.
Did not receive key code had to ring to gain access but they were there in a few minutes
8.0− Lot of cobwebs garden bushes hanging over
Excellent cottage, needs improvements to garden.
7.0Having a driveway, the cottage was well presented and tidy and in a quiet neighbourhood.
− The outside of the cottage. The back garden lawn was extremely overgrown and lots of weeds and nothing like the advert images suggested, and the seating area wasn’t decent enough to sit in ( unclean, flys etc). One of the attractions for us to stay at this cottage was the garden area, so it was a let down.

6.0The proximity to the coast and town and attractions is excellent. Onsite parking is a bonus. Well equipped kitchen, plenty of cupboard space. Hard flooring is good for pets.
− We noticed straightaway that the gravel drive was full of weeds and the planters by the door had dead plants, not very welcoming. We couldn't find the safe key code on the booking.com app and rang and texted the owner but got no reply. Luckily, we then found it. The back garden was in a disgraceful condition, the 'lawn' was around 18in high and unusable. The side area gravel was full of weeds as was part of the decking. The border could hardly be seen and was also full of weeds. We had to clean the mugs before having a drink as they were heavily stained and we also had to clean a dirty frying pan before we could use it. We only used the main bedroom and the mattress needs an upgrade as it's soft and unsupportive. The sofa seats are also the same. The TV sound is distorted and we didn't use it as it was difficult to hear.
Very well located home from home, within easy walking distance of pubs, restaurants, shops and beach which meant we walk
8.0Location is secluded, so very quiet, with the bonus of private parking, which is very difficult to find in Hornsea as usually street parking.
− Not so much a dislike, however the mattress in the double room was far too soft, which as I have a back and hip problem I woke up every morning struggling to move - could do with a firmer mattress that is more supportive. Also, the garden looks like it has not been tended to at all this year. We did laugh when we nearly lost our little Morkie in the long grass.
Lovely property. Nice and clean, lovely welcome gift that was really appreciated.
