3.0The location was good and the size of the property was also good. Solana Beach is a nice town. This place could be a much better stay if it was managed better.
− TL;DR: Bad for families - stay elsewhere. This was a very challenging stay, mostly due to the managing company that runs the rental. It could be a very nice place, but unfortunately, we had a bad experience from start to finish. Here are some of the lowlights of the stay, although there were too many to type out. The home is not as nice as the pictures show unfortunately. The dishwasher was broken, and should have been identified due to the massive dent in it, and the fact it wouldn't close. We had to wash dishes our whole vacation. All dishes and cups in the cabinets looked dirty and unwashed. The master bathroom has no door, not only on the shower, but also on the toilet room, which makes the toilet unusable if someone is in the master bedroom. The home smelled like a wet dog when we checked in. The outside furniture was dirty, misplaced and not very usable. Many lights did not work in the home. The fence was broken and injured my kids. The TV was not connected to the internet, and they management company could not solve it / we had to solve it ourself. Although the place was unused the night before and ready, they would not allow us to check in early without paying a fee. Although this is certainly their right, in our 50+ rental homes we've used, we've always been welcomed to a free check-in if the place is unused, and even large chain hotels offer us this basic kindness They consistently tried to upsell us on purchasing the night before and after, even after we declined the night before and never requested the night after. Finally, after all our trouble, the management company told my wife they would give us money back due to the many issues and said to contact them after the stay. They then did not grant us any concessions whatsoever. It was a disappointment, but at least Solana Beach is a nice little town.
