Appartement is souterrain; schoon, basisvoorzieningen, goede communicatie met host
5.0Schoon appartement
− Bed, tv deed het niet, openbaar vervoer
Not worth it
5.0The apartment was close to multiple bus stops, although the buses weren’t always reliable. There are shops and a supermarket nearby. Quiet neighborhood.
− There was a lot of humidity in the apartment which had caused mold to grow in the bathroom. It wasn’t possible to open any widows except the tiny one in the bathroom, which could only be left ajar. There was AC but the air coming out had an unpleasant moldy smell and it was clear the AC unit hadn’t been cleaned in a while. During our stay the fire alarm kept going off randomly even thought there was no smoke, which was very stressful. As we arrived there was no WiFi - the router wasn’t connecting to the internet for some reason. We contacted the owner multiple times - we sent two messages and we called but never received a response. We also couldn’t work out the TV either. Overall, even considering the relatively low price, the stay was unpleasant to say the least, especially due to the smell, moisture and the complete lack of care from the owner. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t come back.
Cheaper isn't necessarily equal convenient.
3.0Ease of access to public bus but info on advert saying Near Times Square misleading.
− Zero info on how to work TV. No info on Where to get transport. Where to get anything. Nobody speaks English even in shops. Ran out of toilet paper day 2. No advice on how to get shower going. Noisy neighbours
Exceptional
10.0
Clean and cheap alternative to visit NY
8.0Same as shown in pictures. Excellent quality/price relationship.
− You need a bus to get into NY (google maps helps you well), but frequency is fine and it takes 20 min.
Good
7.0The room was not too big, but nice and clean. Host was cooperative when we reported him that wifi wasn't working anymore he immediately took action and solved the problem. Overall basic, but good price/quality
− Location 'close to Times Square' is somewhat misleading. But we managed to get there every day. Bus station is at walking distance, then take 20 minutes to NYC. Taking the ferry (a 20 minutes walk) was also a nice option. Neighborhood is fine but not much to see. But that's what we knew when booking this studio. So again, overall good price/quality
