A peaceful retreat
10.0Very peaceful beautiful setting. Staff were very attentive. We enjoyed having the hotel virtually to ourselves (other guests were caught up in travel disruption).
− Its seclusion meant you couldn't walk to local shops or other places to eat, but we were happy staying at the hotel all the time having stayed in Udaipur town centre before arriving.
Disappointing at best
4.0− At the time of booking we had requested for rooms close to one another. They allotted us room 3 & 13 which was not even in the same wing. At the time of check in the front desk manager had the audacity to suggest that maybe we go looking for accommodation elsewhere since they were unable to give us rooms next to each other.at 9 pm after having traveled for 8 hrs I was expected to lug my 65 yr plus parents & 2 year old toddler to another property. After much ruckus they did give us rooms close to one another on the next day. 2nd time staying at an hrh property in Udaipur and like last time this also was not a pleasant experience. Safe to say we will not be returning to this property again. They shd inform guests at that time of booking that the venue has been booked for weddings - everything is a hassle including parking of the car
We went for the new year eve party which was excellent. The band , the dinner , the drinks all were great value for mone
8.0It’s well appointed with good interiors
− There is no accessibility concern with the management for senior citizens. Car are not allowed to get upto the porch and even senior citizens have to walk little incline to reach the portico. The suites are upstairs and we were told that it’s only 10-11 steps, but in reality it was almost 20-25 steps without any lift . The whole space is not wheelchair friendly.
A beautiful heritage property in a scenic setting, but our stay was let down by excessive noise.
6.0The property is set in a beautiful location and has a distinctive heritage character with great lake and mountain views. Staff were pleasant.
− Our overall stay was marred by several issues that affected comfort and convenience. The most significant concern was the noise throughout the night and early morning. The chickens and geese around the grounds were particularly loud, making it difficult to sleep. This was compounded by building work starting early each morning and continuing late into the evening, which further disturbed the peace and quiet expected at such a property. The internet connection was highly unstable, cutting out completely one evening and not returning until the following day. We later learned that the issue was caused by a damaged external cable, but at the time staff were unable to offer an explanation or solution. As the television also operates via the same internet connection, this meant no access to TV or online services. The hotel may wish to consider installing two independent internet lines to prevent such disruptions in future. We were also disappointed by the restricted water policy, with only two small bottles of drinking water provided per room per day, and any extras charged at a disproportionately high rate. For a hotel of this standard, a more generous and guest-friendly approach would be appropriate.
Very good
8.0
Best place, must visit and definitely my all-time favourite.
10.0The food was amazing. The view from the room as well as the corridor – deers and peacocks was surprising and beautiful. The location of the dining area and the lake, the campfire at night was best indeed.
