Poorly managed property with health and safety issue

− We had multiple issues during our booking & stay for this property. 1. We have booked the newly refurbished property. Few days before our arrival, host has informed that the original property is having some issues and offered us alternative property. As we didn't had much option left we took the alternative option. When we came to hull we have identified that the original property was already occupied by someone. Not sure why he lied to us. 2. Stairs carpet had spiky grippers which were not properly fixed. It has hurt my son very badly and we got hurt as well. When this was reported to host he hasn't taken any action and kept denying that. As as alternative he has asked us to wear shoes while going up the stairs and sent us hammer to fix them. 3. When we arrived in property it was smelling and some of the bedsheets were dirty which was replaced later on by him.

Bathrooms and kitchen where newly renovated as stated.

− Overflowing bins with what we could only assume was the previous tenants rubbish/food scraps where out the front as we arrived, we were asked to clean it up ourselves, the garden is described as being a “work in progress” however with small children staying there it was actually quite dangerous with lots of broken tree branches etc. we couldn’t go out there at all during the stay. No where to dry our clothes (travelling with small children we needed to wash a few times) had to take a few trips to a laundromat which took time out of our stay with family and friends.
