The property is gorgeous and was just as advertised. Fitted to a high standard with mod cons and very clean. The host was very king and communicative whilst we were staying at the property. We had some issues with a taxi at the airport and they waited over an hour for us, which was really appreciated. There are a handful of shops within walking distance - a Bashco which is an electrical shop but sells a small amount of dry foods, plus a separate butchers for fresh food. The host kindly shared directions when asked. The apartment is situated directly over the ROK Hotel, which wasn't explained on the listing but was a pleasant surprise. We had use of the pool and access to the shop/restaurant as if we were a ROK guest.

− The payment process was quite frustrating. We expected Booking.com to act as a conduit, but the host contacted us privately and requested payment via PayPal, requesting we use the the family and friends option so they would receive no fees. The listing on Booking.com was clear that payment would be taken by card, which we highlighted to the host, but were still obliged to set up PayPal to initiate the payment. We would suggest for future guests that the price is elevated marginally and a few basic amenities are put into the apartment. Items such as tea/coffee, tin foil, oil, laundry powder and miniature shampoo/conditioner/shower gel. We have stayed at a number of apartments/Airbnb's and usually find a 'welcome pack' with a few items. Plus an instruction manual showing how to use appliances, check out process, some also containing suggestions for tourist attractions nearby. It would be more accommodating if these were provided and also a hairdryer!! We didn't check on the listing if this was provided, our error, but I have never known an apartment or hotel in the 21st century that doesn't! We bought one in the end. Lastly, we would just point out that the apartment is cost but very dark with no ceiling lights, only mood lights and downlighters. It was quite dingy and difficult to use the mirror. Plus the windows are not soundproof in any way!! We could hear the bar 2 doors up the road clearly and on Saturday night there was a DJ around the pool of the ROK Hotel - the music went on until the small hours to the level as if we were sitting next to the pool... Given we had walked a night hike and hadn't slept for 48 hours, this was very painful!

I will definitely choose to stay here next time I’m in Kingston.

This was even better than their photos portray. Had an entire one bedroom flat with kitchen and living room to myself. And the location was fantastic.
