− I have never been so disappointed or disgusted by a stay in my life. From the moment I arrived, it was a nightmare. Firstly, the property was impossible to find — no one local had even heard of “Escape Life @ Port Douglas.” There were no contact details provided until after booking, which made it even more frustrating. When I finally arrived, the first impression was appalling. I had tripped over on a cracked uneven ground that needed to be fixed outside of the property. The front door was stuck and almost impossible to open or close properly. Inside, the place was filthy. Thick dust covered surfaces, the carpets stank and were visibly dirty, and worst of all — there was faeces left in the toilet. Absolutely unacceptable hygiene standards. The bathroom was mouldy from top to bottom, especially in the grout and shower area. Broken tiles littered the loungeroom floor, and the lattice up the stairs was caked in grime and dust. Every surface felt neglected for months. The furniture was in terrible condition — the wicker chairs were torn, the plates and cutlery were a random mismatched assortment, and there wasn’t even a proper set of cups or glasses. To top it off, there was old food in the couch cushions. On Saturday night, I accidentally locked myself out because the door was so heavy and jammed, and it was nearly impossible to reach the host for help. The lack of responsiveness just summed up the entire experience — careless and unprofessional. Overall, this property was disgusting, poorly maintained, and falsely represented. It should not be available for guests in its current condition. Do yourself a favour and stay anywhere else — this place completely ruined what should have been a relaxing weekend.

We loved our stay here. We booked this resort with a few other families and all had different villas. Ours was by far the best. The host provides some handy basics for the kitchen so you dont have to dash to the shops right away thankfully. The pool lagoon was phenomenal! We had kids a variety of ages and they all loved it. Lots of shallow and deep parts. *the map does look like there are two pools and a BBQ area, however the 2nd pool and BBQ area are totally inaccessible and it seems its for another part of the resort. Location was too far from town to walk with kids, but some of the adults enjoyed the exercise in to town. We didn't use the resorts small cafe/bar/restaurant, so cant comment on that. Highly recommend booking this place. We would love to come back one day again.

Beautiful location. Very comfortable and had everything we needed. Lovely and clean. Would recommend this host and accommodation. We love the pool here. A quick drive to town and short walk to the beach.

− The resort restaurant isn't open for dinner only pool snacks.

Great apartment for my friend and I, central location, nice pool! Although not knowing it was 2 storey, it was a bit of an issue for myself, with bad knees. Great overall though!
