− Disappointing Stay – Hidden Fees, Unreturned Deposit & Temperature Restrictions Our experience with this rental was frustrating due to misleading information in the listing and unnecessary hassles. First, the ad failed to mention that heating the pool came at an additional cost. Upon arrival, we found the pool unusable and were forced to pay a fee to have it heated—something that should have been disclosed upfront. Second, a security deposit was charged, and although the host initially refused to return it, after discussing the issue, the deposit was eventually refunded. However, this unnecessary back-and-forth was a waste of my time and should never have been an issue in the first place. Important details like refundability should always be clearly stated in the listing. Another inconvenience was the strict temperature restriction. The instructions required that the thermostat remain at 74°F both day and night, limiting guests’ ability to adjust it to their individual comfort needs. Temperature preference varies, and guests should have the freedom to set it as they wish. Overall, transparency was lacking, and these unexpected complications made for a frustrating stay. I would not recommend this rental unless the host improves communication and allows guests more flexibility.
