A lovely historic area, very beautiful and peaceful

A beautiful old home in a quaint village that dates back to medieval times. We were self-catering as we were there for a sport event. The kitchen had basic cooking equipment so we could go to the shop, which is in the next town 6km away and make our own meals. The best place we stayed in all of Spain, full of character and such a lovely picturesque village. They have done a wonderful job making such a historic home comfortable. It's not luxury accommodation but perfect for the price, Extremely comfortable king sized bed. When we had a little maintenance issue he drove straight there (an hour away) to fix it and brought his daughter to translate. Super helpful owner!

− No shop or public transport in the town so plan ahead - that's got nothing to do with the property though, they gave us the number of the local taxi who was also very helpful.

A wonderful, well-equipped spacious cottage

One of three terraced houses, loving restored in the local style, with beams and thick local stone. A well-equipped kitchen, and proper turn-knob hob rather that the awkward touch-type. Lovely garden, with BBQ. The owner was a delight, and helped us during our stay. Easy access ro Aguila de Campoo for walking and swimming in the lakes (in season!), and quite a lot of nearby walking routes too. There is a nice local bar just 2 mins walk away.

− There's really everything you would expect, and the space and layout was nice. The windows are small, so you need the lights on even during the day, downstairs. An oven would be useful, and if all the adjacent houses are full you will be close to your neighbours in the gardens.
