9.0The view from both porches was amazing. There were multiple outdoor sitting areas, a clean hot tub, and a gas grill. Both floors on the property could be a stand-alone property.
− The road to the house is a bit bumpy.

8.0Beautiful place, great for a big family, toys in the kids room kept my 2 year old busy! Beautiful view from the balcony. Enough parking for our 3 vehicles, could fit 4. We liked how the floors (upstairs & downstairs) are separate, easy to keep the kids all upstairs. Having 2 full kitchens was great. Loved the table top fireplace & the cozy fire pit, lots of seating. Owner was great & let us check in about 20 mins early as we came from about 3 hours away and our timing was a little off. Overall loved our experience!
− The drive up wasn't awful but was a bit difficult when another car was coming from the opposite direction as it's a one lane dirt road. The hot tub had about an inch thick foam on top when the jets were on, chlorine maybe? Not a big deal to us. A few things left behind from a previous family were found and dog hair on the sheets (we didn't bring an animal). It does say pet friendly so we weren't too stressed about it so we washed the sheets ourselves the first night.
Loved everything about the stay. Will stay again and highly recommend

10.0Uitstekende aankleding, prachtige ligging en prima service.
Red Rooster was a great place to stay above Franklin, we plan on returning.
10.0Red Rooster was a very pleasant family stay. We had 10 adults/children. The house has 2 floors with huge covered porches running the length, looking out over several mountains in the distance. All we could see were trees and mountains. Even though it was hot down in Franklin, at the house it was mild enough to sit out on the porches all day and talk, read, enjoy the hot tub, grill and just look out at the scenery. In fact, we did go down to Franklin a couple of times to eat and briefly look around, but really wanted to go back up the the house and spend our time there. In Franklin, for eating we can fully recommend Gracious Plates on Main for locally sourced food and Las Margaritas, right around the corner, for Mexican. We went to Gracious Plates twice and Las Margaritas really impressed us with its well decorated interior and very well prepared food. Back at the house there was a room dedicated to some workout equipment, including a far-infrared sauna (which I'm buying one now for our house after using it every day ;-). The hot tub was cleaned weekly and we used it daily. There was a game console and foosball for the kids as well as smart big screen TVs in practically every room. There was a full kitchen on both levels. There were various grills including a pizza oven grill. We rotated breakfast in one and dinner in the other. All in all it was really more than we expected and we hope to revisit the Red Rooster in the future. I had a couple of questions during our stay and easily communicated with Tiffany, our host. I used email, msg through Booking.com and telephone to reach Tiffany and she was quickly available to answer my questions. I give her full points for her management of the property.
− I really can't come up with anything not to like at Red Rooster. The road up to the house was interesting with stretches of gravel, dirt, and pavement. One lane, if you meet someone, one of you backs up. It was negotiable by a regular car though. Just go slow. But, you know, that contributed to the feeling that you we really out in the mountains, while you were still 20 minutes from grocery stores and town.
