House on the 2-floors. Bedroom and kitchen on top floor, living room and terrace in the basement.
8.0We booked the place because of the very beautiful pictures. The only things we liked there were the space, the remote area and the fact that we were actually all by ourselves there with my wife and our little baby girl. There wasn't anybody else. Although the entire building consists of 3 houses, they rent out only one part of the house and during our 2-week stay we did not see anybody else. The views were amazing. The sunrises and sunsets are breathtaking. A good location to drive to Volterra and other locations like San Gimignano, Siena, Firenze, Pisa, Livorno, to the Chianti wineries etc. Tons of locations to explore. We also liked that it was recently renovated, so it was clean and nice. The kitchen was very well equipped with brand new stuff.
− I was the first to open the house door and step inside. Right then, I felt the house to be cold actually, not welcoming. I guess there was too much stone all around. And our biggest surprise was that the living room was actually downstairs, almost like in the basement. We didn't see that from the pictures, it felt like everything is on the same floor. So, you might expect that the living room with all that fireplace, big TV and the terrace is on the same floor as the kitchen, but it's not. You have to walk down the narrow stairs to the basement to watch TV and go to the terrace. So, during the evenings of our 2-week stay, we mostly spent our time behind the kitchen table, because the downstairs living room was not inviting at all. In fact, when it's dark and quiet, it's even a bit spooky. Just pay attention to the fact that the kitchen and living room are on the different floors.
