“Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at The York in Hartley. The property has a great atmosphere and was a relaxing place to spend time with our group. The location and overall experience were very good, and we appreciated the character of the accommodation.

− There are a few areas that could be improved. The kitchen cooktop only worked with induction-compatible cookware, and not all of the pots and pans provided worked properly with it, which made cooking a little difficult. The air conditioning was also hard to control and the rooms became quite hot at times — individual room controls would make a big difference to guest comfort. General maintenance around the property could also use some attention. Despite these points, we had a good stay overall and would recommend it for a group getaway.”

The location and the space. Well stocked in term of cleaning supplies.

− Not very clean - kitchen cutlery drawers had used candles left in there and all sorts of craps in it. No condiments like salt and pepper (left an empty bottle of olive oil) pool heating is spoiled and when asked, owner finds it a big job to repair. Pool cleaner was left in the pool with the wires in, not safe for children. No wood fire provided. Outdoor was space not clean and couch is uncomfortable, condition of the house is not what the photos had shown

Very disappointed mainly with the quality of the pool.

Clean spacious residence

− Poorly maintained. Spider webs on ceiling of kitchen. Weather strip on rear door hanging off of door frame. Toilet paper holder falling off the wall in main on suite. Cracked ceiling plaster in laundry. Loose pavers in pool area. Rusty Hazard metal fitting fixed to pavers in pool area. Bbq not properly cleaned. I spent 30 minutes cleaning it to a reasonable standard after we used it once. Left it spotless. Pool cover unusable, breaking up from ultra violet light. (Sun). The pool was disgusting and unusable for the whole duration of our stay. The water was green despite it having been spiked with chlorine. My son spent about an hour a day cleaning/scrubbing the pool floor and walls. However the water quality didn’t improve much. The fire pit was falling apart with overgrown grass all over. The front centre garden in the middle of the driveway was very poorly maintained. Dry weeds, pavers falling off.

The instructions for entering the house were very clear. The beds were comfortable, the location was very nice, and we enjoyed the spa and the spacious kitchen. We saw the wallabies around!! Our stay was too short.

− We found part of the pool dirty, spiders and cobwebs where the spa is located, the shower floor is not safe, you slip easily and many of the drawers for storing clothes were dirty inside.
