The owners communicated well up to and following the booking, sending videos of how to access the property and responding promptly to queries. Although a very cold night (freezing) the heating, while very noisy, was effective. The mattress was very comfortable.

− This downstairs apartment was very small and offered basic amenities with no frills and it was also unfinished in places. The ground floor apartment has been created using plywood to separate off the staircase and this remains unpainted or plastered. The door to the large noisy boiler was missing. The door to the living room had an old catflap still in situ and no attempt had been made to cover this or make it look nicer. Probably the worst feature was that there were no curtains or blinds in the living/dining room to provide privacy so that you were in full view of the street while eating or watching TV, particularly with the light on at night. The 'kitchenette' consisted of a travel kettle, two portable electric single rings and a toaster with no actual stovetop. The shower room was tiny and there was no waste bin. There was no carpet or rugs and the level of decoration throughout was poor. The bed was comfortable but pushed against the wall so that one of us had to climb over the whole bed to get in. This could easily have been addressed by using a smaller bedside table or shelf on the other side so there was room for someone to get round the bed. There was only one pillow each and no apparent supplementary bedding available. There was no easily accessible plug to charge a phone in the bedroom and the only mirror was in the bathroom so I had to dry my hair without a mirror. There was no balcony as described. Overall we found the property rather comfortless and did not enjoy our stay. We had the impression this property had been converted at minimal expense. The level of accommodation did not match the price charged and it is hard to see how it can have been reviewed as "Superb" and given a 9.3 rating.
