3.0Die Lage
− Das Hotel ist so in die Jahre gekommen. Beim betreten des Balkons hat man schon ein komisches Gefühl. Das Frühstück war das schlechteste auf unserer Rundreise. Für den Preis eine Katastrophe.

− Only parking for about 6 cars, it is advertised as free but mostly no space available. There is public car park close by but this is expensive and usually full during the day.
The Royal York and Faulkner was the perfect hotel for a short break away.
9.0The hotel has a lovely quaint feel. My room (a single deluxe, sea view) was clean and well appointed. Breakfast was fully table service, but everything as expected food-wise. Serving staff were helpful. The hotel is over the road from the beach so a perfect setting. Gavin helped take my bags to my room and kindly noticed the balcony table needed cleaning (messy from a seagull). He returned to clean it within minutes.
− I felt the receptionist on checking in was not terribly friendly. Rather brusque. I like efficient but friendly would have been nice. Especially as a single traveller. Water bottles can be refilled from a water station but this is not terribly well sign posted - I only found it as a resident was heading with a bottle and I followed! However, this is very useful.
