− This host tries to avoid booking.com payments and wants identification checks. I didn't realise this until it was too late. They wanted me to pay by bank transfer, despite booking.com constantly saying payment was agreed by credit card associated with my booking.com account. Had to confirm my id through something called truvit. Numerous emails right up to hours before arrival regarding payment. Very stressful. Everything very complicated. The point of using booking.com is to remove all of this. They already have my details. The house was very nice and we could have done without all the surplus administration.
