The beds/bedding was ok

− When you enter the front garden it is unkept with long grass, weeds, black bags and a plastic tub full of dirty smelly water lying around. We could not use the downstairs bedroom as the smell of cigarettes was disgusting, the back yard was littered with cigarette ends. If you had young children you wouldn’t be able to let them play in the front or back garden. The description for the property states that it is a no smoking house, this is not true and the description should be changed. As we are all non-smokers, we wouldn’t have booked a house that allowed smoking. In this room the curtain pole was hanging down and there was a large stain on the carpet. The kitchen wasn’t clean with dirty marks over the unit doors, the fridge had milk stains in the door and the oven was covered in bits of food. A cupboard door was hanging off and the fridge/freezer weren’t attached to the door. We couldn’t use the kitchen as it was that dirty. All the doors in the living room were covered in dirty marks and the couch was covered in hairs/dust. The house was full of cobwebs and the furniture/decoration could be doing with being updated. The bathroom was clean other than the shower drain. The beds and bedding were ok other that one dirty pillow. We had to pay a £40 cleaning fee in with our booking, I’m not sure what this was to cover as it certainly wasn’t to clean the house. I have tried to speak with the property owner on numerous occasions but they haven’t replied to any of my messages. I wouldn’t like for anybody else to pay to stay in this property and then have the same issues that we had. If it hadn’t been for the clean bedding we would have had to check in to a hotel.
