Lovely one night stay tucked away in the beautiful countryside
9.0On arrival the owners daughter welcomed us and explained the facilities and provided recommendations on where to walk and have food. The Showman’s Hut was clean on arrival and had everything we needed for one night. Milk was provided in the fridge. Please note there is no running water in the hut, however the communal facilities were directly behind us and had a kitchen sink, showers and toilets. The shared facilities were clean and can be fully locked for privacy. As no one had booked the hut near the lake, the daughter advised we could use this which was really appreciated. It was so peaceful to be near the lake and watch the sunset whilst the sun went down. We brought our small dog, who thoroughly enjoyed running through the fields and going to the local dog-friendly pub (Yew Tree). A small note: We really appreciated the extra mile the daughter had taken to help when we required emergency sanitary products. It was far from ideal for us this happened after a pub trip and being unable to drive to a local shop! A massive thank you. Checkout was 11am which is was perfect for us to have a lay in and a steady morning. Overall a lovely stay.
− The only thing we noticed were the wine glasses had some red wine left in the bottom, however this was not a big issue at all and easily cleaned. We overheard the guests staying directly next to us say they were allergic to dogs. Whilst this is no fault of the property as they clearly advertise they are a working farm, it did make it slightly difficult for us to sit outside with our dog and use the fire pit as the huts are so close to eachother.
