Wrong Address Advertised
6.0The aircon and the washing machine were very welcome at this point on our travels. Also appreciate the ample bottled water that was left out for us. I can imagine this property would work well for a family more so than a couple.
− Communication from the owner wasn't great. I asked a couple of times for the entry details so we could be prepared for arriving. He mentioned he only sends after cleaning is complete and would share before 2pm (fair enough). Of course 2pm came and the info wasn't sent so I had to prompt again as our taxi neared the advertised address. At this point we were sent a different address. It would have been a 12 minute walk between the advertised and actual locations with cases under the hot sun. Fortunately, our Grab driver went above and beyond to get us to the new location. So that others dont go through this ordeal unnecessarily, this is the address : 68, Lorong Mawar 12, 90000 Sandakan, Sabah, Malaysia. To be fair, there is probably little difference between the two locations, both are quiet suburban streets. Bathrooms were functional and the downstairs shower is lacking water pressure. We chose the location as a compromise between Sepilok and Sandakan. In the end it didn't work for us and with hindsight we would have chosen one or the other for our stay. We ended up leaving a day early to stay in Sandakan.

8.0The house is well presented exactly like the photographs, being an established homestay, there were plenty of supplies (like water and toilet paper, even laundry detergent for the washing machine).
− The downstairs bathroom hand basin leaked so maintenance could have been a bit better. I did inform the host and he said he would address the issue once we had left. The knives were all blunt and there was no knife sharpener but otherwise everything was ok.

Lovely to stay in this area, much better than the city and easy to get to all wildlife sites by grab
