− We checked in smoothly on Friday and everything was exactly as described, and our stay started off well. However, on the very next day — Saturday — the property owner arrived unannounced, knocked on the door, and introduced herself. While we have no issue with her introducing herself in principle, we found this visit unexpected and disruptive. Throughout the booking and pre-arrival communication, all contact had been via messaging, so there was no prior notice that she intended to visit in person during our stay. This interrupted our holiday and gave us a sense that our privacy was not fully respected, even though we had already settled in. We hope in future the owner will give guests advance notice before visiting, so guests can enjoy their stay without feeling disturbed or caught off guard.
