Double booked and no communication

It seemed like a good location

− According to properties owner booking had double booked the location, that seems very unlikely. We got the check in info a day ahead of our booking, that seemed somewhat odd but ok. The morning of our booking we got the checkout info. At that point I used booking chat to reply back that this seemed weird, no reply. When we arrived at the location it was not available, after calling we got in a discussion about the double booking. He blamed booking.com but never owned up to not even replying on my message from 8 hours before, I would have had many more options to resolve the problem but instead had to spend 3 hours to find a solution that could host my tired family. I would never book this, double booking can happen I guess but check your messages and reply!

Niets.

− Dat we 2 uur voordat we aan zouden komen een bericht kregen dat het appartement dubbel geboekt was. Booking kreeg hiervan de schuld en de accommodatie was niet te bereiken (ook niet voor Booking). Dus dit is gewoon een club die de boel bedonderd. NIET BOEKEN!! Booking heeft het overigens prima opgelost, waarvoor dank.

Lovely apartment and facilities.

Modern, clean, comfortable beds and adequate facilities for 3 nights. Good size bathrooms, nice decor, beds and living areas all nice.

− Car parking was an issue. One space but upon arrival another car was significantly over the space so the owner asked me to park on the Main Street but there were no spaces so we had to drive around the area. She asked me to then knock on the neighbouring doors to find who owned the car and ask them to move. We did this and there were no further issues but it was not a great way to start a trip after along day of travelling. No guides to use the facilities so just had to guess. Previous persons opened yogurt and drinks and food in the fridge and cupboards. We booked here to be outside London, however once you add the cost of parking and trains each day to get into London, it would have been better to book in the city.

It’s clean , cosy and in a nice quiet area . Theres a Budgens below the apartment and the town centre is a ten minute walk away .

− The owner , whilst being kind and flexible , needs to improve communication a lot . Replies would come hours later . Sometimes questions were left with no response. The electronic taps can be annoying , they are preset on a temperature which if you want to make hotter , doesn’t always work ! Likewise there’s two taps , only was drinkable from what I understood from the belated responses ! For the amount that’s being paid , communication must be quicker .

Lovely stay, convenient position for walking to resteraunts pubs etc and short drive to tourist attractions

− Only parking for 1 car and not much other parking around
