Good location.

Furniture and fittings are old, dated and scruffy, but it's reflected in the price.

Awful nights sleep which could have been avoided

3.0

Super friendly staff, really good breakfast Clean and tidy Excellent location

Unfortunately I had the worst nights sleep I've ever had on a trip, the door to the room is that badly fitting it let's light in from the landing also it wouldn't offer any protection in a fire, the light i could get around but the room has a door leading to the room next door which offers zero sound proofing,I was kept awake whilst the guests next door chatted and watched TV,probably at a normal volume in their veiw but it was like they were in the room with me, that went quiet so I managed an hour or so sleep before being woken up by another guest shouting and swearing at someone to be quiet,I'm guessing they had the same issue as me. I was then kept awake with the guest next door to me snoring as again its like you're sharing a room, there's absolutely zero sound deading from the door,I contemplated sleeping in my van in the car park at one point and if I hadn't had a drink in the evening I'd have drove home.it completely ruined my birthday trip and wasted £112,I had plans the following day to see more of the dales and climb pen y ghent but ended up coming home after around 2 hours sleep,I've raised this directly with the guesthouse through here as there was nobody to chat too when leaving but had pretty much been fobbed off,all in all a disappointing experience which could have been saved if I was told to bring ear plugs, something I shouldn't have to in a hotel but still!

A disappointing stay

3.0

Central position in town.

The room we suspect has had a revamp recently but the builders dust was very evident (someone with a dust allergy would have had a nightmare). The back of the TV thick dust, shower ( not had a revamp) broken and very slow to drain. Light bulbs missing. Internet information in room incorrect, depressing view out of the window of overgrown gutters. There is no longer a bar downstairs it’s closed. You have to go to next door for breakfast ( out then in again ) which was ok but nice weather. Grossly overpriced for the standard of accommodation, we had paid the same the night before and it was no comparison, previous night lovely. On bikes and sat outside for an hour as notice on door said check in at 3pm. This time arrived and no one arrived to unlock. Very poor. Disgusting freezer in the lobby area. Overpriced at £100 and I did a random check for Friday night which came out at €238!!!! Sorry but things need to change the way this property is listed. A refund would be nice …….

A little disappointed

7.0

The room was very nice and clean, beds were very comfortable, and was perfectly situated.

The breakfast was served in a different hotel, although just next door, it was not ideal, it also took 20mins and me having to call the OOH person to even be noticed and situated for breakfast. They do not serve food at all at the hotel, and the bar closed at 22.00. Last time we visited in 2022 they served lovely food there, and was one of the reasons we chose to go back.
