10.0The property was magical, nestled into the forest with the Red woods. The kitchen and bathrooms were updated and everything was immaculate. I highly recommend staying here.
UNIQUE LOCATION WITH WORLD CLASS SERENITY
9.0Location is OUTSTANDING. Property interior is generally well kept up.
− Few areas of the kitchen could use updating. House Exterior and lowest floor (storage?) seem dilapidated and somewhat neglected. I recognize that wooden structures in such a high humidity zone are a lot of upkeep but even still - at this price per night I expected better. Road to the place is not easy but is not proprietor’s fault. Bathrooms could also use an upgrade in my opinion for this price point.

A beautiful and rejuvenating retreat
10.0The house is amazing, and very well furnished. Every piece in the house had personality and felt intentional, from the book cases, to the bed runners. The skylights gave a lot of natural light but it was never too bright or hot because the house is quite deep in the woods. We slept great every night in the side bedroom where the blackout curtains gave us complete privacy and allowed us to sleep in a bit. The master bedroom was a bit cooler but the hosts provided a space heater that was my wife’s highlight. We cooked in the kitchen and it was great too. Overall 10/10 between location and comfort.
− The oven was a traditional one that we were a bit scared to use. Some instructions on how to use a few of the less intuitive things like that and the shower (switching from bath faucet to showerhead was tricky) would be really helpful.
Warm inviting cabin perfect for a get away and stay nestled within redwoods.
8.0Exactly as described. Very warm and inviting, with lots of books for adults to read and games for the young ones to entertain themselves besides the tv. The location is nice, close to both Big Sur proper as well as Carmel Highlands/carmel by the sea. Well -stocked kitchen that allowed for us to cook while staying here.
− The drive in can be daunting though not the property’s fault. Also WiFi is a bit weak, and slow, but again given the location and prior warning we were fine with it.
