Would not stay again- disappointing stay
3.0The location was handy for the buses to get into town
− The accommodation was not at a standard where it should be acceptable to have guests stay at the moment. There is still clearly a lot of work that needs to be done before having guests stay. When we arrived we began to notice a few things had not been cleaned well and as we continued to look around noticed more and more things that were not right. There was an electric socket that had a post note on to not use as it was loose so was not safe. The bathroom and kitchen, the two main rooms that you expect to be cleaned the most were not at a good standard at all and looked like they hadn't been cleaned at all. The toilet was so dirty and the toilet seat was loose. We did contact the hosts about this and they came round and cleaned for us however this was now 9:30pm and we were all very tired and disappointed with the place. We then went onto to notice there was a carbon monoxide alarm however had one battery in so was not working which is not acceptable especially when it is advertised that it has one. I respect the hosts are new to this however you can see it has been a rush job to get it out for people to stay and the whole place needs a really good deep clean and sockets and the electric box all needs covering up to ensure it is safe. The hob ignition button didn't even work so made it harder to be able to cook. There was an ironing board which was outside wet and broken which looked like it had been there for some time and also a huge amount of rubbish just thrown around the corner of the house. We had booked this for the weekend as we were visiting family and it did put a negative start to our weekend. We did try to look for somewhere else to stay however at that time and last minute we were very limited and with having a child it was not ideal so we made the best out of what we had.
