Beautiful gardens, beautiful living are and bedroom

− Terrible bathroom, difficulty climbing in and out of shower/spa. Shower head too low unable to stand comfortably under it. Unable to sit comfortably in spa due to jets up your bum. Unsafe getting in and out of shower/spa. Would be terrible for someone with mobility issues.

The location is perfect. The apartment has such a lovely view of the garden. David was super helpful to guide me how to find the key. We had a lovely stay!

− The only thing that annoyed me a bit was the bath tub which the wooden floor became super wet whenever we had shower.

Ideal couples' getaway just a short drive from Melbourne

My partner and I were celebrating my 30th birthday and wanted to keep things low-key but still head out of town, and this fit the bill for an ideal couples' getaway. We didn't even end up making use of the full extent of the property's facilities over the two nights that we stayed, but the spaciousness felt like a real luxury, especially the glorious garden. It was important to us that we had a fully functioning kitchen, as we didn't want to eat out for every meal, and it had everything we needed. Must make mention of the spa bath, of course, which (other than the kitchen) was the main drawcard, and is truly enormous, and opens out into the living room, allowing for convenient telly-watching, which itself was fully set up for casting directly from our own devices. Location was also fantastic; being able to stroll down to the lake, across into town for dinner at Bar Merenda, or even drive around the region for sightseeing – while still feeling peaceful and secluded – was delightful. We did not meet David and Deirdre in person, but their communication was excellent, and they were very kind to forgive us misremembering the check-out time.

− It is important to note that the accommodation is situated below the owners' residence, so, as hospitality workers (i.e. chronic night owls), we felt somewhat wary of being too disruptive. It would have been worthwhile knowing that the spa bath was restricted to pre-10pm – due to the noise generated from the pumps, understandably! – as late evenings is when we would typically enjoy a bath.

Would recommend for the location, space, size and comfortable bed!

Location was great, easy walk to main area of Daylesford. Snuggly blankets and heating were a bonus on an unexpected cold day. Kitchen was very well equipped. Appreciated the message checking everything was OK on arrival. Bed very comfortable.

− While it didn't affect us, I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone with mobility issues - the shower is over the spa bath and it is not the easiest bath to get in and out of. We were concerned about standing on the spa jets in the floor of the spa bath while having a shower, and the shower head was quite low (for us). But overall, a lovely space that we would recommend to others.

David was so friendly and welcoming with great suggestions on things to do in the beautiful town of daylesford. The space is incredible with such a gorgeous open garden to enjoy that has a magical feel to it. The Jacuzzi bath really made it for us. We'll definitely stay again when visiting our friend in the area.
