Disappointing Stay - Nice Location but Poor Value for Money

The property's location was excellent, and the house was spacious with multiple outdoor sitting areas. The indoor space included one lounge and dining area.

− Our stay was severely impacted by numerous issues. The property was not as advertised and below expectations for a luxury property. Access and Communication: - The property listing incorrectly advertised 10 beds, when in reality this included shared beds and blow-up mattresses - Initial check-in was extremely difficult - keys weren't in the specified lockbox, and when found in a different lockbox, they didn't fit the gate It took 90 minutes to gain access after multiple calls with the cohost and owner - No key was provided for the front door - The cohost was slow to respond to initial enquiries - No welcome information or house manual was provided Safety and Maintenance: - One pool gate didn't latch properly, creating a safety hazard - Pool was dirty with accumulated brown leaves - Multiple light bulbs needed replacing - A non-functional dryer remains mounted on the wall despite the washing machine being a washer/dryer combo Cleanliness and Amenities: - One bathroom was particularly unclean, with built-up dirt on the insect screen, uncleared shaving debris, and dirty surfaces and cupboards Another bathroom had compromised privacy due to a slipped louvre window facing neighbours - Used, mismatched supermarket brand toiletries were provided - Two out of three hairdryers were incompatible with power outlets - Bedroom power boards were also incompatible - Mouldy bins beneath bin liners Kitchen and Supplies: - Kitchen poorly equipped for 10 guests with limited, mismatched, and worn Kmart dinnerware - No serving plates provided - Insufficient cutlery and kitchen implements - Rusty dish rack - Only three bin liners and limited dishwasher tablets supplied - No basic provisions like tea, coffee, or condiments - No iron provided despite having an ironing board Despite these significant issues, particularly the difficult check-in process and misleading bed count, the owner was unwilling to offer a late checkout as compensation.

This house would be amazing if was cleaned at all and maintained to the premium cost of stay.

Location, size of house, views The beds were comfortable, and the linen and towels were fresh,

− The cost, we expected a higher standard and were disappointed to have to clean before we could relax after a long drive. Here are the main issues we noticed upon arrival: • The front gate was open, but the front door was locked.the bbq balcony doors were open after looking at the entire house we feel it was being aired. • The BBQ balcony doors were left open. • The downstairs area smelt like mould. • All windows throughout the house and the upstairs apartment were filthy, which was disappointing as we couldn’t enjoy the amazing views with them closed in the cold. • Dead flies were all over the kitchen bench, especially in the corner and some on the main surface. • Cutlery was dirty, and there weren’t enough for our party of 10 (only 8 knives and no butter knives).knives that were there the tips were broken off on most. • Only 8 mugs and 8 wine glasses were provided. All plates and cutlery needed a wash before using. • Plates were chipped and cracked. • Tongs in the drawer were unwashed. • No platters available for a cheese board. • Tables and benches needed a proper wipe down. • The oven was filthy and unusable. • The BBQ handle was broken, and it hadn’t been cleaned inside. • The water dispenser button was sticky with a residue. • Downstairs near the pool table, we noticed: • A random red tap hanging off shelving. • An empty wine bottle left on a shelf from last guests. • The space under the kitchen bench was filthy. • Floors throughout the house needed a proper mop. •. Microwave broken, no information about the Tv which didn’t work ? Bedroom tv remote didn’t work.
